This is the yoga..

It’s a phrase that resonates deeply across both our yoga and reformer Pilates practices here at Udara.

This winter in Hobart was a tough one - so many of our members (and several of our teachers) were hit with sickness and fatigue. As much as we love consistency, sometimes life has other plans. The season brought with it plenty of changes: a favourite teacher needing rest, a new face guiding your class, or a gentler approach to your own practice after illness.

We all have those teachers who feel like home - whose voice and rhythm settle something inside of us. It’s a gift to connect so deeply, and it makes sense to want to keep returning to that familiar presence. But here’s the magic: that can be true and yoga itself is also a spiritual practice of adaptability, of openness.

It’s a gift that stretches far beyond the mat or the reformer.

Because at its heart, yoga teaches us to soften into what is - not just what we prefer. It reminds us that showing up matters, even when things feel different. And it invites us to discover, or re-discover, something new along the way. ✨

We know these changes aren’t always easy. That’s why we want to thank our community for the way you’ve shown up this winter with such support and understanding - for your teachers, for each other, and for yourselves.

So, the next time your favourite teacher is away, we invite you to come along to class anyway. To meet a new teacher, move to a different rhythm, or experience a fresh perspective. What may feel like a small shift could become a beautiful discovery.

Because movement isn’t about sameness. It’s about presence. About curiosity. About openness.

And that, friends, is the yoga.

With love,
The Udara Team ✨
